ASTM A106/ASME SA106 is a standard specification for seamless carbon steel pipes used in high-temperature services. It consists of three grades: A, B, and C, with Grade B being the most commonly used. These pipes find applications in various industries, including pipeline systems for transporting petroleum, natural gas, water, and slurries. They are also utilized in boiler systems, as well as for construction and structural purposes.
ASTM A106 Grade B pipes are considered equivalent in chemical composition and mechanical properties to ASTM A53 Grade B and API 5L Grade B. These pipes are made of carbon steel, with a minimum yield strength of 240 MPa and a minimum tensile strength of 415 MPa.
Seamless structure: There are no welds on the surface, ensuring uniform strength and resistance to cracking with a minimum yield strength of 240MPa and a minimum tensile strength of 415MPa.
High strength: Compared with welded pipes, seamless structures have higher strength, allowing them to withstand greater pressure and tension.
Precision and uniformity: The production process of seamless pipes ensures high dimensional accuracy and regular geometry, making them suitable for applications that require precise dimensions.
Corrosion resistance: The surface of seamless pipes is smooth and free of welds, which provides excellent corrosion resistance and resistance to the accumulation of corrosive substances.
Wide application: Seamless pipes are used in various industries such as machinery manufacturing, shipbuilding, steel structures, power structures, chemical equipment, oil drilling, etc.
Standard specifications: Products such as ASTM A106 Grade B pipes meet specific standards for high-temperature services and have clear chemical compositions and mechanical properties.
Carbon Steel Seamless Round Pipe is produced by perforating whole round steel, resulting in seamless pipes without welds on the surface. These pipes can be categorized into hot-rolled, cold-rolled, cold-drawn, extruded, and top pipes based on the production method. They come in two cross-sectional shapes: round and special-shaped, with special-shaped options including square, elliptical, triangular, hexagonal, melon-shaped, star-shaped, and finned pipes. Ranging from 4mm to 900mm in diameter, seamless steel pipes are further classified into thick-walled and thin-walled varieties based on their intended use. Common applications include petroleum geological drilling, petrochemical cracking, boiler systems, bearing structures, and high-precision automotive, tractor, and aviation components.
Carbon Steel seamless steel pipes are long strips of steel with hollow sections and no joints, making them ideal for fluid transportation pipelines. They are widely utilized for transporting oil, natural gas, gas, water, and various solid materials.
