Low carbon seamless steel pipe is a mild steel hollow section made by perforating a steel bar or solid bar billet into a rough tube, and then hot rolling, cold rolling or cold drawing. The chemical composition of low carbon seamless steel pipe is stable, the carbon content is usually not more than 0.20%, the manganese content is between 0.35% and 0.80%, the silicon content is not more than 0.35%, and the sulfur and phosphorus content are not more than 0.040%. It has excellent yield strength and tensile strength, and can meet the requirements of material strength and toughness in different occasions. Its hardness is low, which is easy to process and weld. Low carbon seamless steel pipe is a very important and common hollow section in the steel pipe industry, with excellent performance and a wide range of uses. Low carbon seamless steel pipe is usually used in the fields of conveying liquids, gases, oil, structural pipes, etc. Low carbon seamless hollow section have the characteristics of corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, and high compressive strength, and are an important metal hollow profile material.
20# seamless steel pipe is made of 20# (AISI 1020)steel, which has slightly higher strength than 15# (AISI 1015) steel, rarely needs quenching treatment, and is not easy to produce temper brittleness. Its cold deformation plasticity is high, suitable for bending, rolling, bending and hammering. It has good arc welding and contact welding performance. It is suitable for parts with smaller thickness when gas welding, but it is easy to crack when the shape requirements are strict or the shape is complex. In cutting, the processability in cold drawing or normalizing state is better than that in annealing state, and it is usually used to manufacture workpieces that are not subjected to small forces but require high toughness.

Hot-rolled seamless steel pipes include general steel pipes, low- and medium-pressure boiler steel pipes, high-pressure boiler steel pipes, alloy steel pipes, stainless steel pipes, petroleum cracking pipes, geological steel pipes and other steel pipes. The outer diameter of hot-rolled seamless pipes is generally greater than 32mm, and the wall thickness is 2.5-75mm.
In addition to general steel pipes, low- and medium-pressure boiler steel pipes, high-pressure boiler steel pipes, alloy steel pipes, stainless steel pipes, petroleum cracking pipes, and other steel pipes, cold-rolled (drawn) seamless steel pipes also include carbon thin-walled steel pipes, alloy thin-walled steel pipes, stainless thin-walled steel pipes, and special-shaped steel pipes. Cold-rolled seamless steel pipes have high dimensional accuracy, with an outer diameter of up to 6mm and a wall thickness of up to 0.25mm. The outer diameter of thin-walled pipes can reach 5mm, and the wall thickness is less than 0.25mm.
General seamless steel pipes are mainly used for fluid delivery pipelines and manufacturing mechanical parts. Hot rolled steel pipes are delivered in hot rolled or heat treated state; cold rolled steel pipes are delivered in heat treated state.
Seamless steel pipes for low and medium pressure boilers are used to manufacture various low and medium pressure boilers, superheated steam pipes, etc. They are mainly made of No. 10 and No. 20 steel. In addition to ensuring the chemical composition and mechanical properties, water pressure tests, curling, flaring, flattening and other tests are required. Hot rolled steel pipes are delivered in hot rolled state, and cold rolled (drawn) steel pipes are delivered in heat treated state.
