PRODUCT INTRODUCTION

42CrMo4 carbon steel bar is an industrial material widely used for manufacturing forgings that demand higher strength and larger tempered sections than 35CrMo steel. Typical applications include large locomotive traction gears, supercharger transmission gears, rear axles, connecting rods, and spring clips subjected to extremely high loads. Additionally, 42CrMo4 is suitable for producing oil deep well drill pipe joints and salvage tools used at depths below 2000 meters.

4140 and 42CrMo4 both belong to the chromium-molybdenum low-alloy high-strength steel series. The primary difference lies in their standard naming conventions: 42CrMo4 follows the European EN 10083 standard, while 4140 adheres to the American AISI standard.

4140 steel is known for its high strength, excellent hardenability, good toughness, minimal deformation during quenching, and high creep strength and endurance at elevated temperatures. It is commonly used for manufacturing forgings that require greater strength and larger tempered cross-sections than 35CrMo steel.
